There are obvious differences in my accomplishments when I am living in MY strength versus living in GOD’S strength. The Bible says,  “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore, my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” (Psalm 28:7) Will I limit what God can do through me by choosing to work without Him?

Or will I trust in Him and be helped?

Think about this: A 10-year-old boy has the capacity to build a Lego castle and impress his 10-year-old friends. He may even spend his entire life creating more complex Lego castles and capture the amazement of more 10-year olds; however, at some point he will realize that Lego castles aren’t particularly useful, except to be admired by fellow Lego enthusiasts. As he ages, he will have the capacity to create something much better than Lego castles; but—he will never live his full potential if he chooses to live in the knowledge he understands! This boy only becomes capable of building beyond what he understands after years of instruction by architects and engineers.

Similarly, we’re only capable of doing great, wonderful, and eternal things if are satisfied with our own knowledge of God. God has given us the knowledge of His ways in His Word, and the power of His Spirit to teach us to walk by faith in Him. Thus, He enables us to do what would seem otherwise impossible. It’s amazing to see yourself grow into who God made you to be! Although I sometimes find myself reverting back to my comfort zone of  Lego-building, it simply doesn’t compare to the miracles He does through me—these works that are clearly far beyond my capabilities! It’s so exciting to see what God does when we seek Him! What a magnificent place to be—in the center of God’s imagination and strength!
