Why am I inhibited from asking for criticism or help from others? Well, isn’t it because I want to be the superstar and impress everyone!? Ah, how my foolishness is my pride! I need to remind myself that I am but a small part of the body of Christ. The Bible says: “For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ. For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many. If the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body?” (1 Corinthians 12:12, 14-15)

The leg is nothing without the brain; the eye sees nothing unless the eyelid opens. All the body parts are made to complete each other—not to fight against each other!

I must determine not to be a foolish eyeball rolling around on the ground without a body. How ridiculous and useless! God used this thought to remind me to train myself to be a part of the team and not look for my own glory with the talent He has given me. I need to maintain transparent teachability and a team spirit! The team collaborates to win, not to make one person a superstar. I’m on God’s team, and if God ever uses me to accomplish anything noteworthy, it will be because of Him and—the rest of the team! My prayer is to allow God to constantly humble me so that I am always a teachable team player!
