We need to keep spiritual principles as a guide for our daily decisions and live with the vigilance of a warrior on the battlefield. In a military operation, it is crucial to identify the target, know the plan, build the skills of the team, and recognize the vital responsibility each team member has in order to accomplish the mission and maintain the safety of the team. This knowledge must be second nature during the execution of the mission; otherwise, drastic consequences may result.

Ephesians says, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:11-12) There are few more important missions than rescuing those held captive by the slavery of sin.

Are you prepared? Are you listening to the Great Commander?

Before He extracts us from the war zone and takes us home, God has given us the tools and the time to execute our mission. We must maintain and develop a mission mindset lest we hit the wrong target or, even worse, leave without rescuing the prisoners of this spiritual war! Today God has given us a great mission and it is to: Love Him and love others. Love conquers all. We don’t want to check out of the mission or be the reason for casualties. We are on the team that will win the war against darkness.

Let’s all live like warriors of light and love.
