When I start thinking that I don’t have enough money or enough of anything else, I need to remember that God gives me enough to do something, but not too much to do nothing. He knows whether more wealth will make us lazy, selfish, or worse—live less dependent upon Him. We must prove ourselves faithful with the resources He has given us in order to be blessed with more resources to manage for His glory. This applies to ALL RESOURCES—time, money, possessions, spiritual gifts, etc.

The Bible says: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” (Luke 16:10-11)

My misuse of the resources God has given me may be the reason I cannot be trusted with more! Wow!

The most precious blessing God gives us is the gift of a relationship with Him through salvation. How am I managing the wealth of this gift? Am I doing nothing with it, and yet, I yearn for Him to bless me with more material blessings so I can do even more of nothing important with more of His precious gifts?! God loves me too much to allow that. I must learn to be a good steward of the gift of salvation by utilizing the material gifts God has given me to further multiply the most precious gift He has given me. Then, He can bless me with more in order to do more for Him and others.
