After yesterday’s devotion, I was challenged to ask for help from God throughout the entire day. It was amazing! He was so faithful all day long to give me wisdom and love from His bottomless supply. Talking to Him and asking for His help throughout the day is definitely a better way to live. Sometimes I think He allows me to fall to the bottom of my own small cup of love and wisdom to make me realize that I should be drawing from His deep well.

Amazingly enough, as the day progressed and I continued to give His wisdom and love, I felt myself getting stronger instead of weaker. By the end of the day, I was so physically and mentally charged-up that I took a long run, visited with an old friend, and then went home and did more work.

And—I was only moderately tired when I went to bed!

Jesus said, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38) Living water gives life, not only to those who drink it, but enables those who drink it to give it to others! In order to give it, we have to keep drinking it; otherwise, we wither and are useless. Be challenged to try this throughout the day: Talk to God and ask for His help before trying to solve problems, give advice, or give comfort. Watch what He does.

It’s an amazing experience!

We need to live life drinking from the well of God’s wisdom and love, instead of trying to quench our thirst in the dusty desert sand of our own resources. He not only satisfies us, but He enables us to give Living Water to other thirsty souls.
