One day God woke me up an hour before my alarm went off. He said, “It’s time to count your blessings!” I’ll bet yours are very similar:

  1. Everlasting life and all the earthly benefits—like love, joy and hope—that come from being a child of the King.
  2. Family—amazing and crazy people who have made me better in so many ways and loved me even when I was unlovable!
  3. Good health—I can see, taste, walk, hear, talk, etc., and I’m not in the hospital.
  4. A job God has taught me to love; it pays the bills and  allows me to share HIM with others. Wonderful co-workers I love like family.
  5. A church family who I can serve, rejoice, weep, pray and worship alongside.
  6. Friends who care and  give me the opportunity to care for them.
  7. Freedom because I was born in a country where opportunities abound.
  8. Earthly provisions—healthy food, clean water, a safe car, and a beautiful home. Much better than I deserve!
  9. Created in God’s image—He created me in His image and gave me a heart that can be like His and touch others. Whether it’s sharing a smile, laugh, encouraging word, sorrow, trial, or just life’s path—sharing God’s heart multiplies my joy!

These blessings remind me to not waste one minute God has given me today.

I want to capture every blessing, praise Him for them, and share them with others! Thankfulness reminds me of this verse:  “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”  (Psalm 139: 14)

When we’re thankful to God, we spontaneously praise Him because that is our redeemed soul’s home base. Counting our blessings helps us recognize our absolute need for God, and draws us into His marvelous presence!
