On a morning after my daughter left to go back to the East Coast, I found sweet handwritten notes that she’d hidden around the house. One of the things that she said was such an inspiration that I had to share it: “You have instilled the source of your sunshine into my heart, and it now flows out of me. People, patients, friends, and others have asked me ‘why are you so happy?’ While the superficial answer is that I have this incredible parent who loved me and taught me how to love, the deeper answer is I have this incredible parent who taught me about God’s love. That love is one that never runs out, never is too busy, and is always present.”

Her words were so humbling because God reminded me that it wasn’t ME she saw—it was HIM! Her testimony was proof that the greatest gift we can give to others is to let God show His love through us. She was able to state it so well because she’d experienced it. Seeing God in each other is something we should ALL experience!

The love of a parent or loved one is imperfect and gets easily worn out, it is NOT so with God’s love! To be a source of God’s love is a high calling because it is the best way for a hurting world to see God!  The Bible says:

“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”  (1 John 4: 12)

We should all be challenged to be God’s love for those who have no one else to show them!
