Do you ever wonder if you’re trading a security blanket for the most memorable, meaningful and satisfying life you could live? After all, if you died today, someone else would own that security blanket you’ve worked so hard for anyway—right? So, are you “living the dream” God has planned or is someone or something less than God defining your dream? If our life is centered on our earthly experiences, we will never capture the full flavor of life as God intended for us to live.

Are you going to live today and be satisfied with a life half-lived?

Amos Chapter 5 presents a simple, but profound life-theme from God: “Seek ye me, and ye shall live.” (vs. 4) To place this message in context, the chapter goes on to say: “Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name.” (vs. 8‬)‬ The message is clear—passionately seeking anything less than God is not really the life we were intended to live.

God created life and He knows how to live it to the fullest.

So, turning our thoughts to today—what will occupy our time? Will we seek the Creator of all that is good with every fiber of our being so that we can live in the full glory He created us for? Or, will we be satisfied with the world’s “secure” path? Your plans for today will reveal what you’ve chosen. Sure, we should work hard for what we need, but it should never be more important than needing God. He is our greatest security and will lead us into the greatest life we could ever live!
