Are we living like we’re on the court pressing to play at the top of our game on both end’s of the court; or, are we just playing a little defense, going for the easy shot and—hoping we can survive to the buzzer? Are we playing lackadaisically because—we believe we’ve already won enough games? The fact is, is that if we’re failing to play our BEST game, we do NOT deserve to be on the court. We’re bringing the whole team down! We don’t even deserve to be called a player, do we? Ok—wow! Does this also describe the way I live for Christ?

The God of ALL Creation has given me LIFE to live TODAY. Am I living just trying to survive until I retire or until I go to Heaven? Am I resting on my past accomplishments and living a sleepy, lazy, uncommitted life because I’ve “earned” it? Conversely, am I so busy with accomplishing success in the lesser important things of life that I’ve abandoned the glorious purpose that the Giver of life has for me? If any of these things are true, then I need to stop claiming to be a CHRISTian because—I am really playing for the other team. If I WANT to be on the court, play in unity with the team, and play for victory, then I need to be ALL IN—no matter what my age, race, social status, economic situation, or any other circumstance! God deserves my most passionate game!

The Apostle Paul wrote:

“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians‬ ‭3:12-14‬) Amazing words! CHRISTians belong to Christ! Is there anyone else we’d rather belong to? If not, then get with Him. Know Him. Be coached by The Best. He believes in us so much that He put His life on the line for us, and we should live like our life is on the line for Him! When we do, we begin each day with: “Put me in, Coach!” Then, we allow Him to coach us all day—for His glory!
