When we navigate life based solely upon what we see, hear, feel and perceive with our mind, we have not chosen to live in all the advantages God has given us. If we are not taking advantage of all of our resources, how can we live up to all the potential God created within us? Although Jesus lived fully as a human, the Bible says that He relied on something much greater than His physical senses to navigate life. What was it?
The Book of Isaiah says: “And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear, but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth.” (Isaiah 11:2-4a) Jesus was guided by a supernatural force—and His name is the Holy Spirit!
Are our decisions made primarily based upon our physical senses or are we guided by the Spirit, and thus being guided by God’s superior wisdom, understanding and knowledge?
Jesus promised to send His Spirt to those who love Him. He said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:15-17) When we love God so much that we desire to live within His law of love—we live with advantages that those who don’t love Him cannot begin to understand.
God’s Spirit will guide you in ways greater than you can imagine!
If we are children of God, and we are freed by His law of love rather than chained by our sin, we live in the advantages of the magnificent “Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge!”
