The more God extends my faith in Him so that I live His way instead of my own, the more I realize that His plans are always better and—they always succeed. What do I mean? Well, let me give you an example.

After over 20 years of practicing law, God made it clear that He wanted me to quit practicing in an area of law that was time consuming and emotionally draining. I resisted because it was also roughly seventy-five percent of my income. How would I pay the bills? After fighting God for over two years, I gave it up. The first year wasn’t a financial bed of roses, but it was full of unparalleled adventures I wouldn’t trade for any amount of money! God re-ordered my loves and showed me that loving obedience to Him is more important than striving for financial security.

Can any amount of money ever make us completely secure anyway?

He gave me my own personal testimony of His promise of success: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-11‬) How incredible it is that, through Jesus, we can walk in God’s unfathomable ways and superior wisdom.

As we walk this awesome adventure called “life,” we should consider the endless possibilities of living in a plan and purpose that never fails. That’s God’s plan. Don’t you want to be part of it? Seek Him with all your heart and you will find it.

At the end of my life, I want to look back and see the footprints of God everywhere I’ve been.
