When we meet a stranger—can they know they are loved by God? I remember meeting a lady when I was in law school, and as she talked to me I was overcome by the most extraordinary feeling. It was a powerful feeling of the purest love—from someone who didn’t even know me. It was one of those milestone experiences which helped me recognize that God’s love stands alone from any love we experience.

What was even more amazing, was to discover that I, as God’s child, carry His love-gene and am enabled to give His love to anyone!

We are ALL commanded to be part of His love. Jesus gave us to two great commandments: Love God and love others. (Matthew 22:36-40) However, love can’t be manufactured or forced. Furthermore, it’s usually experienced based on a history of a relationship with someone. Thus, for a complete stranger to feel love in a lone encounter with us— means it’s supernatural. How does this happen?

The Bible says: “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” (I John‬ ‭4:16‬) To abide in love is synonymous with with abiding in God. Jesus said if we love Him we will keep His commandments. So to live in love with God means we’re following His ways with our whole heart. When we live in loving obedience to Him, we begin to KNOW the love of God so well that He becomes the source of the deepest and most steady love in our life.

We can’t hide God’s love. His love shines through us. Our inner man, or soul, glows like someone who has fallen in love. It is more powerful than we understand.

When we abide in God, we abide in His supernatural love; and, it’s more powerful than we understand.
