I’m so grateful for God’s Word which is filled with His promises of peace. For example, the Bible says: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬) Wow!

When we belong to God, we possess a relationship which enables us to keep from having our hearts and minds robbed of peace—if we want it. The question is—do we want it, or would we rather continue to live in a stressed-out mode like the rest of the world that’s going crazy?

All the thisngs I have worked for my entire life—a beautiful home, position of respect, retirement, and—even finding love and having a family—could be gone in the blink of an eye. A stock market crash and COVID-19—and “boom”—what I’ve worked for my entire life could be instantly gone. If all of this is what matters to me the most, then it’s also what is guarding my heart and mind, and—it’s doing a terrible job right now!

It’s time to change.

God is using this pandemic to redirect my heart and greatest hopes—in Him. Before this all happened, I thought I was pretty spiritual—but this pandemic is teaching me how little I know of God and the peace He offers. My only lasting hope is in Him. As I daily re-order my loves and make God my greatest love, HE becomes the one who guards my heart and mind. His promise is that HE “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20‬) Loving God with all our heart, enables us to walk in blessings which are more abundant than we can “ask or think.”

When we passionately give God our heart, our time, our greatest love, and all we possess—we live in HIS peace that passes understanding—in the midst of any storm.
