Although we may try very hard to understand the wisdom of God, without His Spirit—it is impossible AND without His wisdom we’ll never reach our full potential. God’s wisdom is in His Word and when we read it in the power of His Spirit, He reveals the truths hidden to those who don’t know Him. “Wisdom” is more than mere “knowledge.” Knowledge doesn’t necessarily make us wise, in fact, it can actually make us evil. Wasn’t it the knowledge of the half truth sold by satan in the Garden that gave Eve her reason to eat the fruit?

God’s wisdom is HIS application of knowledge to life. God’s wisdom empowers us to be be more than we knew we could be.

But—to have God’s wisdom, we must be strongly connected to His Spirit.

The Bible says: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” (‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2:9-12‬)

Do you want to know the marvelous things God has prepared for you? To whom does He reveal the deep wisdom of the great things He has prepared?

God has prepared great things “for those who love Him!”

When we love Him with all our heart, soul and mind, everything else—family, job, possessions—are second to Him. We love His Word and His commands and thus, the window of our heart is clear and pure so we can see the truth God reveals to us. We see the world through the lens of God’s wisdom. His Spirit teaches us our great purpose and we are motivated by the knowledge and experience of how much we are loved.

Wouldn’t it have been tragic if Jesse Owens had been a slave and never stepped foot on a track to begin his journey to Olympic Gold? When we are surrendered to God’s Spirit, He fills us with wisdom, so that against all worldly odds, we step out of slavery and onto the track. Our Creator has the deepest knowledge of our talents! When we surrender to His Spirit, we enable ourselves to release the power of His presence to become everything we were created to be.
