When, within the depths of our heart, we really understand that God’s presence is our greatest provision, and we live in this truth—we open flood gates to a steady stream of peace. God’s presence is necessary for the life which enables us to read the words on this page. It is He, who blew breath into Adam, the father of the human race, and made him a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) In God, we “live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28) God upholds “all things with the Word of His power.” (Hebrews 1:3)

But, keep in mind, if God’s power were His greatest attribute, His presence would primarily evoke fearfulness in us. It is in His great love, that He harnessed His power, clothed Himself in the vulnerability of flesh, and poured His entire life out for us. He loves us “with an everlasting love.” (Jeremiah 31:3) He sent His Spirit to dwell within His people.

Jesus said: “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John‬ ‭14:25-27‬)

How do we have the peaceful presence of God’s Holy Spirit?

First, our spirit and soul must be born again. (John 3:6) Then, God’s presence is manifested to us as we show our love for Him by following His Word. Jesus said “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” (‭‭John‬ ‭14:21‬)

When we live in the benefits of God’s presence and everlasting love then, even amidst the failure, pain and turmoil of our earthly existence—we know HE—is all we need.
