Oh, to be like Jesus is to be a more beautiful, strong, and wise person than you ever imagined! What does this look like? It is to be like Jesus. My first thought, when someone tells me I should be more like Jesus, is to think “that’s impossible,” and thus, put that thought on the shelf. But Jesus commanded us to “love one another as I have loved you.” (John‬ ‭15:12‬) If He commands us to love as He loves, it is NOT impossible. Jesus said “ALL things are possible with God.” (Matthew 19:26)

To become like Christ, we must first become His child through the grace of salvation. Then, we must follow His ways. We can’t follow Him unless we figure out who He is—right? Thus, we must study His Word, talk to Him, and allow HIM to transform us. We will NOT be able to accomplish the transformation into our greatest self—without Him! As we journey with Him, we begin to find that He is making us to be the person we always wanted to be. It’s quite amazing.

But if we are God’s child, it shouldn’t shock us because think about who Jesus was when HE lived on earth.

Jesus was deity become incarnate, and in this great paradox He gave all humanity the hope to live in the same beauty, wisdom and strength as He did. He overcame the world, the flesh and the devil—our three great enemies. He was weak and broken for the powerless; but completely fearless before the corrupt and powerful. Jesus showed tenderness without weakness; and strength without harshness. He was humble, with confidence. He spoke with authority, without self absorption. Jesus was holy, without being unapproachable. He was powerful without being insensitive.

Wouldn’t you love to be known to others with these same characteristics? The fact is, IN CHRIST, you absolutely can!

When we passionately seek to be like Christ, we become everything HE created us to be!
