I remember an incident when God so dramatically and clearly revealed His lovingkindness to me, and being so overwhelmed that I had to abruptly walk out of a meeting—just to thank Him in tears of joy. He had rescued me from a great disaster and I KNEW it wasn’t luck or coincidence, rather it was His lovingkindness to me. It was if I had stepped off a hundred foot cliff and didn’t even know I was falling until He snatched me back to safety! I was faint with gratefulness for the disaster He had averted. The magnitude of the trouble into which I had unwittingly stepped was sobering, but it made me exponentially more grateful and aware of the lovingkindness of my Heavenly Father.

Although for confidentiality reasons, I cannot share the details about what happened, it is a sure testimony of the lovingkindness of my Heavenly Father. This experience made me more aware of how much God’s care and guidance extends to EVERY area of life. When we intentionally connect to Him each day, His lovingkindness in every area of our life is more evident.

God prevents disasters we don’t even know about, and for those that we must walk through—He is our help.

The Psalmist wrote: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalms 46:1‬) Each time we experience a profound awareness of God’s lovingkindness, we need to capture it in our memory. It is these memories that lend us courage to live in victory in future circumstances. Like the Israelites crossed the Red Sea—as we walk God’s narrow path in the midst of the sharks swimming in the wall of water piled up on either side of us, we know the danger is there; but we also KNOW that the Almighty Hand of God is protecting us for His glory.

The Bible says: “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging…Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress…He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” (Psalms‬ 46:2-3, 6-7, 10‬)

Ah, how we may sing with the Psalmist, “Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.”‭‭ (Psalms‬ ‭63:3‬)
