It’s remarkable that God offers us love that’s not conditioned upon our looks, wealth, talent or success—and this concept of love is so foreign to us that we often live much of our life without experiencing it. If God IS love, we should seek love–in Him—alone. But we are more often deceived into believing true love will come from other people and thus, we waste our life chasing an illusion.

The world teaches us to seek to experience more love from PEOPLE–than from God!

Thus, instead of passionately pursuing God, we spend billions of dollars to improve our looks, education and situation so that we can experience more “love.” We think if we make more ourselves more beautiful, valuable, and worthy, we will capture be able to capture the best “love.” What do we get for all our effort? Disappointment in a “love” that crushes our expectations because it was never meant to fulfill our need for love in the first place.

The only love that fills our need for love is God’s love.

Experiencing God’s love has much more to do with what’s on the inside of us. It doesn’t cost US because—Jesus already paid the ultimate price. The cost to experience love with God is the same price He paid to give it to us—the surrendering of our heart. When we surrender to Him, we are filled with a love we never want to lose. God will not break our heart or disappoint us. Unlike the love of a human, we will never be separated from His love by war, death, government, disease, disfigurement, or poverty.

How do we know this?

God’s Word promises, “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39‬) Can any earthly lover make this bold promise?

God’s love for us defies physical boundaries and supernatural limitations and the only thing separating us from His love–is us! We must desire Him to the point we seek Him—above all else. When we learn the value of God’s love, our search for love is happily diverted from seeking it from others to seeking it from Him. God is love; and when we seek God–we find love. When we find God we GIVE love. There is no greater love than His!‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
