Can you entrust the biggest burden you’re carrying—to God? If you’re not giving your burden to God, it’s not because He CAN’T handle it—rather, it’s because you WON’T hand it over. When God challenged me with this thought, I realized that I was unnecessarily CHOOSING to carry my burdens! If you’re reading this devotional and feel burdened, then please think about why you’re choosing to carry your burden instead of entrusting it to God. When we’re carrying our own burdens, it often manifests itself in sleepless night, excesses in food, alcohol, drugs, overworking, binging on Netflix, etc. We don’t have to live this way.

God offers us rest!

Jesus promised us: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬) When we give our burdens to Jesus and take His yoke—we trade the heavy harness of a mule struggling to pull a million tons of coal for the light bridle of a thoroughbred running to victory in the Belmont.

God’s plan for us is not burdensome—it’s choosing to live out our Divine destiny.

Instead of worrying about the future, spend time with The One who knows the future.

Each morning, before you begin your daily journey, tune into your loving Master and He will set your spiritual compass! King David wrote: “Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord! I have fled to you for refuge. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life! In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies, and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant.” (Psalms 143:8-12‬) During the day, pause to talk to Him and seek His path of peace and to stay close to God who is the great refuge for your soul.

God has a better plan for us than we do. He is better to us than we are to ourselves. When we seek Him, listen to Him, trust Him and follow Him, we find life more amazing than we ever imagined.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
