Before I made plans for today, God was good to remind me of how to make the best plans. What are YOUR plans for the day? I often focus on planning things that do not matter, in other words the things that are corruptible. But God, who gives me the breath to choose, is faithful to remind me about what really matters—the eternal things.

The Bible says: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians‬ ‭6:7-10‬)

This clear perspective from God’s Word is a GIFT which multiplies eternal gifts. It helps me shift my PRIMARY goals off of what is temporal. Sure, I’ll go to the gym, but I’ll look for an opportunity to be a light while I’m there; AND—I’ll listen to soul satisfying content while I’m working my body. Yes, I’ll decorate my porch for fall, but I’ll be on the alert for those eternal meetings God has planned to minister to those I meet.

As the Spirit directs me through my day, He move me to “do good to everyone.”

Most days, I need to pray throughout the day for the Holy Spirit to keep me alert to the needs of people around me. Why? Well, I gravitate towards my own needs and am easily distracted by the temporal things that demand my immediate attention. The struggle is real. It is daily. But God is so good and faithful to give us His Word and His Spirit to strengthen our soul to desire Him and His ways.

God’s ways are perfect and when we seek Him—He makes our ways perfect.
