How would you like to be in love with someone who ALWAYS anticipated your every need? What if this person even knew what you need—before YOU did? What if their love was so powerful, you knew it was ALWAYS present—even in the darkest hours when it felt like everyone else had abandoned you?

This powerful, unconditional, all-encompassing, perfect love—comes only from God, but…

…we often believe we can get it from another human.

It’s completely unfair to place the responsibility of giving us this REAL love—on another human.

Without God, humans aren’t even capable of loving themselves very well—much less another person. We are like beggars asking for bread from another beggar. There ain’t any to give away. However, when we possess the gift of salvation and our Spirit is remade “in Christ,” we are new creatures and have been given an endless supply of GOD’S love—more than we can ever give away.

In Christ, we possess the genetics of love—because He is love.

The Bible says, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬) And when we are “in Christ” the “love of Christ compels us” to give others  the kind of love we’ve been given. (vs. 14) Through Christ’s amazing love for us, He allowed Himself to be abandoned by His Father’s love so—-we would never be abandoned. On the cross, as Jesus took all the sin of the world upon himself and His Holy Father was forced to turn His face away from Him, Jesus cried,  “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)

Christ suffered alone, so we didn’t have to EVER be alone!

Jesus gave us the familial connection with our Creator and Heavenly Father—AND the ability to experience the most real and powerful love we’ll ever know. A relationship with God gives us the ability to love with an expectancy—not an expectation. Wouldn’t you love to know love from someone who had no expectation FROM you; but rather just an expectancy of being WITH you?

That’s God. And that’s His love. When we’re IN Him, we have the ability to love like He does. Let’s use it to love each other!
