If you were in a rowboat about to plunge over Niagara Falls and a team of Navy Seals in an MK V special operations craft was deployed to rescue you—would you decline help? Would the reality of the sheer power of the roaring falls and a 167 foot drop that you are unlikely to survive—not be enough evidence to make you desperate to be rescued? You would be either absolutely ignorant of your peril or completely foolish—to stay in the rowboat! And you would be deluded to pretend the danger doesn’t exist.

The fact is, without God, we are ALL like someone on the brink of destruction. We are destined for a place much worse than the bottom of Niagara Falls. If we are living without a relationship with God—we are destined for hell—which is eternity without Him.

This is a very perilous position to find yourself in!

Many reject God’s help because they say He doesn’t exist. But—the truth is—according to the Bible we ALL know He exists. God created us with a knowledge of Himself AND given us proof of Himself in the Creation which surrounds us. (Romans 1:19-20) That’s why the Bible says it is “the FOOL [who] says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalms‬ 14:1‬a)

Yet—our will to live our own way blinds us. Thus, we would rather live relying upon what we perceive with our physical senses. They are often wrong because they are clouded by what we want to believe about reality. The most important function of our physical senses is to give us a greater understanding of our spiritual realm—so that we can experience the marvelous gift of knowing our Creator. If you’ve never accepted His gift of salvation, you’re still sitting in that rowboat and your death will plunge you into eternal separation from God. Reach out to your Rescuer! He has an amazing plan for you!!

On the other hand, if you’ve accepted Christ and been rescued from eternal tragedy—but have chosen to live enslaved by the whims of the physical realm—it’s AS IF you’re STILL in the rowboat. The Christian who lives as if there is no God is ALSO living foolishly!‬‬‬‬‬‬ If this is you—turn back to God!

We were designed to live satisfied by God.

Are you there? If not, seek Him, love Him, hate the sin that separates you from Him. He is longing for you as a mother longs for her child. Living with a strong sense of God’s presence, is living in reality. We live in peace. We trust the One we were created to trust the most—God. And, oh my, how we are blessed!

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”‭‭ (Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8‬)
