What if you could give someone the gift of unfailing hope? Hope is defined as a desire, wish, expectation, ambition, aim or goal. Hope energizes us and lights the fire for life that God places within us. Conversely, hopelessness is a powerfully gripping emotion which ensnares us to live far below our potential.

We often place our greatest hope in the things that let us down.

If our hope is in our good looks or our athleticism—we lose hope when we get old, weak or sick. If our hope is in our accomplishments or wealth—we constantly need to more—-just to keep hope alive. If our hope is in Prince Charming—hope is crushed when he rejects us or treats us like a toad. Health, beauty, possessions, position, love–are all common objects of our hope. Billions of dollars in advertising is spent every year to convince us place our hope in these lesser things.

But God gives the hope that never fails away for free!

The Bible says: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.” (1 Peter 1:3, 8) God gives us LIVING hope!

Those who are born again possess the ability to have hope that’s not crushed by failure, disease or death! But to have God’s hope, He must be the undisputed love of our life. Then, our hope is unchanged by circumstances because God never changes. When our life is His, we possess His unfailing hope because God is never hopeless. When our greatest desires are in Him, we are never disappointed—because He never fails!

Furthermore, when Christ lives through us, then sharing His hope is as natural as breathing because He is inextricably woven into the fabric of our life and is manifested in what we say and do. People see a picture of ”living hope!” When we look into the eyes of a searching soul and share the truth about the peace and fulfillment of God—they see hope. When He is real to us, they see how He can be real to them! This is the amazing gift of God’s living hope.

When our heart belongs to God, We have hope in Him and—we are never hopeless.
