Giving opens the doors to God’s greatest blessings—but if you are like me, it sure seems I close those doors—a lot! Seriously, think about it. Can you say right now that—you have MORE than enough resources? That you are content because—you have so much? That you are completely satisfied—like after a five course meal? Because my answer to these probing questions is “No,” I want to know “Why?”

Has GOD failed to keep His promises?

Or, is it me???

Jesus said: “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” (Luke‬ ‭6:38‬) Jesus also said: “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew‬ ‭6:19-21‬)

My dissatisfaction and feeling of lack, stems from treasuring the wrong things.

When we treasure corruptible things, we will always feel as if we are lacking—and we will NOT experience the abundance God intendS for us.

So to experience the greatest blessings of giving—I must ask myself—WHAT is my heart’s greatest treasure? If my heart’s desire is to gather in and hang onto as much of this earth’s treasure as I can collect, then I’m shutting the doors to God’s greatest blessings.

Is it worth it—to love the things that will pass away—more than I love God?

Time will tell—in the decisions I make each day—will I love God or love the treasures of the world?

Each day I choose to love Him more than anything else, I open those doors to eternal blessings. I live in a sense of abundance and blissful contentment. In God’s presence, I experience a sense of having all I need. When I give with HIS HEART, He showers me with the gifts that come only from Him—joy, peace, security, strength, wisdom, etc. These are gifts that money can’t buy.

The gift of living in God’s presence radically transforms our heart to become generous and we give of the abundance from which we’ve been given.
