Our intellect becomes our enemy when we fail to choose the Divine intelligence of God. When we listen to Him, His Spirit speaks incredible wisdom into our soul. No doubt, it’s a constant challenge to forsake our own “intelligence” in favor of humbling our heart and seeking God’s intellect. But—we’re short-sighted if we don’t! I often fail to take the time and effort to get my heart in line with the ways that bring me closer to God because I falsely believe that giving up the ways of the world will bring me less joy.

However, rejecting God’s intelligence in favor of our own is like living in the driest desert and trading away an entire aquifer for a single drop of water!

The Bible says:

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55:6-9)

How intelligent is God?

The Book of Romans says: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?’” (Romans‬ ‭11:33-34) God is the ONLY–eternal, self-existing, truly self-sustaining and self-taught one.

WE—are not!

So, how do we discover God’s Divine wisdom? Well–we must discover God! We must seek Him and forsake our own paltry ways. We cannot be in His presence unless we forsake the sins that separate OUR HEART from Him. Our mind often justifies sin–especially sins like “white” lies, worry, fear, pride, etc., and we seek to solve problems on our own instead of humbling ourselves before God. If we wish to be led by God’s Divine intelligence, then we must seek HIM—before everything.

God is brilliant beyond our human imagination and when we seek Him—we are too.
