Can anyone defeat God? Often I SAY I “No,” BUT—I don’t LIVE like I believe it! The Bible says:

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians‬ ‭2:9-10‬)

Wow! If the Bible is true, then we, as God’s children, can be completely filled with the most powerful force on earth—Jesus! How then, can we EVER be defeated? If we ARE living in defeat, then it’s possible we are simply ignorant of WHO lives in us. But it’s more likely—we’re simply running from Him because we are afraid of the cost of submission.

We’re making a bad deal.

We all have masters…the things and people we serve—isn’t God the most loving?

To live undefeated–we must humble our heart and allow God to fight our battles—He has already won the war.

When our heart is humble, Christ’s power is manifested within us because only a humble heart has the ability to understand the need for Him. As we draw closer to Him, we grow in HIS power and wisdom. We readily recognize the wiles of the enemy as he tries to deceive us into believing we are powerless. HOW do we experience the power of God?

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. (Colossians‬ ‭2:6-8)

As we pursue a relationship with God–He roots us like a mighty oak. He establishes us in wisdom far beyond our own. He makes us stronger than we are without Him. We live unshaken and undefeated.

I know for sure that the ONLY reason I EVER feel defeated is when I’ve strayed from total dependence upon God.

This Psalm says everything we need to know about living undefeated: “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalms 73:25-26)
