People are attracted to good things and good people. They are attracted to excitement and zeal. They want a cause and a purpose to give their life meaning. So, if God REALLY offers us the best life, why aren’t more people going after Him with unparalleled passion?

Well, I can tell you the reason I didn’t.

The world was more attractive to me because I was blind to God’s goodness. But when I allowed God to open my eyes and given me a taste of His glorious presence—guess what? He gave me delight, a passion, and a zeal for Him that is downright infectious!

Our life attracts people to God when they see we absolutely delight in Him. When He is the most important reason for everything we do, others see the joy He gives us. They listen to what we have to say about Him because when our walk matches our talk—we have credibility.

Let’s talk about credibility.

If I claim to be a personal trainer, but I’m 100 pounds overweight–I won’t have many clients—right? I can’t cheat on my diet and exercise and expect anyone else to believe that I can help them become fit. My flab would speak louder than my title of “personal trainer.”

Neither can we cheat in our relationship with Christ and expect our title of “Christian” to make us credible.

We have to do the hard work in order to be credible.

It is only CHRIST who makes us authentic Christians!

To be more than just a label, we must absolutely be passionate about KNOWING Him.

Paul prayed:

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (‬‬Ephesians‬ ‭3:14-19‬)

If our “Christianity” never changes our heart, we are like an overweight “personal trainer” who dons her athletic clothes, but never breaks a sweat; she hides ding dongs in her gym bag, and expects others to believe that she can teach them all about fitness. Physical fitness doesn’t occur without diet and exercise.

True Christianity doesn’t occur without Christ.

We must know Christ to the degree that we adore Him above all else!

When Christ becomes our passion, He shines in every area of our life–the boardroom, the ball field, the living room, the classroom, etc. When God’s nature is preeminent in us, we are authentic Christians. We have authentic love. People see that we belong to Him in MORE than name only. Like a physically fit personal trainer, others see the evidence of Christ before we say a word.

No love is more authentic and attractive than God’s love; and to have it–we must KNOW Him.
