It’s shocking to me how quickly that I, as a Christian, can so quickly—fall into deep despair over all the wreckage in the world around me! But, the reason is simple enough—I fail to keep the loves of my soul in a healthy order.

Recognizing this, helps me plan for the daily battle.

I must PLAN to consistently reorder the loves of my soul so that God’s presence is my center. God is never in despair. The fact is, I love a lot of things and a lot of people—but none of them gives me what God DOES and HAS given me. Like a child to a parent—I love Him because—He FIRST loved me. (1 John 4:19) However, God’s love is more—it’s the most powerful force in Heaven or earth because—it conquered death. Love is the greatest motivator of our soul.

We do what we do because we love what we love.

Our biggest problem is loving the wrong things too much. This love causes us to enslave ourselves to a job, the gym, another person, our tribe, our country because—we love. However, to have a healthy love for all other things—we must love God above all else. Why? Because He is the Author of love and in fact, He IS love. (1 John 4:7)

Don’t you want to learn to love from the ONE who invented love and in fact, embodies love???

God, Who IS love, teaches us how to love others like He loves us. Without Him, we have very little love to give away because—WE are NOT love. Without God, our “love” is little more than a longing to fill a need within us—not “love” to give away. Remember, “God so loved the world that He GAVE…” (John 3:16)

God, in His love, has much to give us. The Bible says: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2:9‬)

When God’s love for us is the reason we do everything we do, we are full of love—not despair.

His love inspires us to see life completely different. Our problems are viewed as opportunities. When we love God, we not only appreciate the beauty of Creation, but we are in awe and wonder of the Creator. Other people present us with endless opportunities to love as we are loved—not to take from them.

Reordering the loves of our soul turns our despair to joy and we have inner peace and Heavenly vision for our journey!
