Surrender isn’t sacrifice when who or what you surrender to is—better than what you give up. The world has a way of making wickedness seem appealing while also making God seem repugnant. But, of course, we don’t recognize the benefit of living in a beautiful garden until we’ve seen it—right?

By His Spirit and His Word, the Creator of all things wonderful, woos us into the wonders of His presence.

“And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” (Isaiah‬ ‭58:11‬)

When we experience life God’s way, we see the garden–then, we can’t EVER imagine life without Him. As we become spoiled by living in the joy of His will, the temptation of the world produces a repulsive reaction within us. We remember what it’s like to be thirsty and how horrible it was trying to quench our thirst with no water.

According to Jesus, we must choose our master:

“No one can be a slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot be slaves of God and of money.” (Matthew‬ ‭6:24‬)

We ALL serve someone or something—but has who (or what) you have chosen to make your master—loved you like God? When you’ve experienced surrender to God, you know there is no deeper peace and satisfaction and—the slavery of sin loses its hold on you. You no longer want to waste God’s glorious redemption living in the slavery from which you were redeemed.

Life WITH God gives us some Heaven to carry us through this journey on earth!
