Do you know anyone who is dominated by unhappiness and dissatisfaction and—constantly blames their circumstances on other people? We often think that if we could just have–(fill in this blank with whatever or whomever you desire)–we would be blissfully happy! But when we get what we desire—it grows old pretty quickly and we’re dissatisfied again. So, we waste our life painfully enduring the present while experiencing only small flashes of joy—while we wait for something to completely satisfy us.

The truth is—we will NEVER be satisfied until we’re close to God.

WHY is this true?

Because—we were created for a relationship with Him.

No sweetheart, spouse, child, parent, friend, grandparent, grandchild, business associate, pop star, political bigwig, millionaire–or ANY person or ANY thing will EVER satisfy us! WE can’t satisfy anyone else AND no one else can ever satisfy us. We weren’t created to bear this burden and—we ALL fail each other.

But–God never fails and He never sins.

God is perfect and gives us everything we need and—more than we ever imagined. WE cannot be the source of satisfaction for another person AND—WE should not try to be the source of satisfaction for others. This burden will crush us! No one but God was created to bear the burden of completely loving, caring, sustaining, giving light and hope to each human. It’s only after we find all we need in God that we are equipped to help give anyone else lasting satisfaction. In Christ, we have rich soul food to share!

When we get close to God, He grows the deeply satisfying fruits of HIS Spirit within us.

When we experience satisfaction in God, our relationship with Him becomes our most prized possession.

After all, money can’t buy—-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness–right? (Galatians‬ ‭5:22) We can’t buy true satisfaction because it belongs to God and—He’s not for sale. We must get close to God by pruning out the rotten branches in our life that keep us from bearing His fruit. The result? He enriches our soul. We relish the present. We don’t try to make other people happy; rather—we show them what it looks like. Jesus said,

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (‭John‬ ‭15:5‬)

God is your richest friend and in Him lies deep satisfaction!
