Who do you trust the most to go to first for advice about anything and everything?

Is it—a spouse, best friend, parent, pastor, or a professional? This week I had several problems I was struggling to solve and as I was racking my brain, reading legal resources, and calling associates who might help—it occurred to me that—NONE of these resources were omniscient!!! I was floored because I had not even bothered to talk to God for guidance before plunging in and trying to solve the problem—without Him.

It was an “I am SO stupid” moment!

Unfortunately, I often choose this painful and tedious path, when all the while God has to be standing right beside me shaking His holy head in disbelief. It’s about as crazy as asking a toddler for trial advice when all the while I have Clarence Darrow on retainer. So…why in the world wouldn’t I ask my loving, omniscient, omnipotent Father for guidance—before I consult with anyone else?

Because I need to learn to release my death grip on my independence from Him and make a HABIT of trusting Him!

NONE of my problems are difficult for God; and when I’m trusting Him for ALL things—they aren’t difficult for me either! God has seen my past, He sustains me in my present, and He knows my future. When I’ve made knowing HIM my most important priority; I go to HIM first—I know everything I need to know.

God will be WITH ME and HELP ME through ALL my problems.

God is just waiting for me to ask. The Psalmist wrote:

“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.” (91:14-15)

Isn’t it amazing that the God of ALL Heaven and earth will be with us and answer our call? When we come to the point in our walk with Him where nothing in the world matters as much to us as He does—we learn to fully trust Him. Then—His guidance becomes our most important life line. We desire to seek His direction before we ask anyone else.

We can trust our Heavenly Father with every decision!
